H. Wayne Adams, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the age of 93. Born January 22nd in 1931 to Ruth Dunlap and Harold Adams. Wayne was a farmer and a lifelong resident of Harrison County.
He graduated from Cadiz High School in 1949 where he met the love of his life, Mary Jean Hennen, and together they built a family filled with love, laughter, and hard work. They were married on April 14, 1951 and Mary Jean loved and supported Wayne until his last breath.
Wayne was a devoted father to Cheryl (Doug) Besozzi, Leonard (Laura) Adams, Beth (Wayne) Karl, and Jackie (Jay) Overholt. His legacy continued to grow with the joy of his seven grandchildren: Tiffany, Brandi, Sara, Jared, Jenna, Jessica, and Nicole; and he even had the opportunity to know and love many great-grandchildren.
Wayne loved playing many different sports. He was an avid bowler in many area leagues even throughout his seventies. He also loved golfing (or rather goofing around on the golf cart with his son and nephews) and playing softball. Wayne was a lifetime fan of Cleveland sports and the Buckeyes. He had a hilarious fashion sense and didn’t hesitate to sport a ponytail, an earring, or unique boots and hats.
Predeceased by his parents, his brother Don, his sister Louise, and his son-in-law Doug, Wayne's memory will be honored by his surviving family who will carry on his love of family, fun, and hijinks: after all, he did climb onto Lincoln’s lap on his Senior DC Trip.
Calling hours will be at Koch Funeral Home at 216 S. High St. Freeport on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. Private family burial will take place the following day in Holly Memorial Gardens in Colerain with Nick Puskarich officiating.
